On December 9, 2007, Mathew Murray attacked a Christian Mega-Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, killing 4 and injuring 3-more. And, prior to his rampage, Murray posted hate-filled messages on the Internet, including the following comment about Christians:
Where, in God's sake, would Mathew Murray ever get the idea that "Christians" are bad? Interestingly enough, Murray was Mormon, and Mormon theology has a long history of denegrating the Christian Religion, which they refer to as, "The Great Whore". Further, in accordance with the Mormon prophecy of, "Daniel's Prophecy of the Rise of the Kingdom of God in the Last Days", Mormon theology has always taught that "The Mormon dispensation of religion" will replace the "Christian dispensation of religion". In fact, the last line of "Daniel" reads, "...it is now time to consider the decline of the Christian religion". Additionally, the Mormon "Doctrine of the Constitution Hanging by a Thread" teaches that America is "in a state of decline" because of "Christian decadence", and that the "mormon elders of zion" will eventually "rush in", to save the Constitution and will be left "holding what is left of the Constitution for all of the other nations of the world to see".
I don't know about you, but doesn't this sound a little like a fascist political coup? And, is it possible that Murray may have been indocrinated into the some of the darker aspects of Mormon theology, which motivated him to commit this heinous act?
