Most people don't even know who Mark Felt is, much less that he was Mormon, was "Deep throat" of Watergate infamy, and routinely violated the very principles of the Constitution that he was sworn to protect. It seems that Felt was just another Mormon who answered to the "Mormon Government" as opposed to the United States Government. And, as a holder of the Mormon "Melchizedek Priesthood", he had been made a "man-God" who held "the keys" with which to circumvent the laws of Man and the Christian Laws of Moses. And, he was superior to all "gentiles" in the US Government. Felt is even quoted as saying that he did what he did because he "grew up in Idaho with traditional Mormon Values" and believed in the Mormon doctrine of "The Constitution Hanging by a Thread", which teaches that Mormon elders of Zion will ultimately rush in and save the Constitution, and be left holding up the shredded remains for all of the other kingdoms of the world to see.

Subsequent to 1973 Watergate Scandal, the esteemed Mr. Felt, was criminally prosecuted in 1980 and convicted of conspiring to violate the Constitutional rights of American Citizens. He had already been denounced in private for leaking Watergate secrets to the Washington Post by Richard Nixon. But, 7-months after his conviction, President Ronald Reagan pardoned him. And, an elated Felt proclaimed, "This is going to be the biggest shot in the arm for the intelligence community in a long time". According to Nat Hentoff, writing in the Village Voice in 1981:

1. W. Mark Felt and Edward S. Miller "supervised break-ins, without a warrant, of the homes of 'friends and acquaintances' of the Weather Underground in 1972 and 1973."

2. Felt, in 1972 and 1973, was Acting Associate Director of the FBI; and Miller was Assistant Director of the Domestic Intelligence Division.

3. The DC Grand Jury indicted Felt and Miller. Among the charges: "On or about October 6, 1972, in Quantico, Virginia, FBI agents attending a Weatherman in-service training course were given a lecture on how to conduct surreptitious entries."

After President Reagan pardoned Felt and Miller, "John W. Nields Jr., chief prosecutor of Felt and Miller, grumbled: 'I would not warrant that whoever is responsible for the pardons did not read the record of the trial and did not know the facts of the case.'" Additionally, another key point that escapes people today is that Nixon was not going to promote Felt to be the new Director of the FBI, and the power hungry Felt who believed that his path had been cleared for the position was deeply upset at Nixon for this. And, there are those today who believe that Felt's participation in the Watergate Scandal was a direct result of his being passed over for this promotion. Felt appropriately took his name "Deep Throat" from the the pornographic movie of the same name, which the the FBI was involved in investigating in 1972.

It's also not widely known that Karl Rove, who was given his start in politics by Mormons in Utah, participated in damaging the security of the United States during his tenure in the Republican Party, and was actually investigated by Richard Nixon for his role in the Watergate scandal as well.
